Answer

Neil Spence RSHom practices classical homeopathy from clinics in Aberdeen and also in Forfar. The first consultation takes 90 minutes to two hours. I need a lot of information about you, and I aim to gather as much as possible during the first session. I will prescribe a homeopathic remedy, usually just one single remedy, and we then wait to see how you respond. I will ask you to telephone me after two to three weeks to report any changes in your health. Review consultations are conducted at four to six weekly intervals to fully assess ongoing progress. The nature of this kind of treatment makes it difficult to treat people over the telephone or by email. I can, in some cases, offer remote treatment. If you live far away from Scotland and would like this kind of homeopathy, please contact me and I will try to help.

Constitutional homeopathic remedies can set off a process of self-healing. This does not always produce instant relief of symptoms. Self-healing is a slow, steady process that takes place over time. Each person is different and each disease process is different. A disease process that has built up slowly over many years will heal slowly. We have to consider the pace of the disease. If it is a slow disease, it must be healed slowly. Instant relief is the remit of orthodox medicine, but that does not always cure the problems. Slow steady self-healing is the aim of good classical homeopathy. I encourage every patient to understand that healing will often take time. We walk together through life for a few months, gathering understanding and observing your reactions to treatment. In the longer term, homeopathy can act curatively, but it is not always easy. Chronic disease often does not let go of you without a struggle, but classical homeopathy can gently encourage the body to heal, no matter what the name of your disease.

During our consultations a good deal of attention is paid to your lifestyle. Healing requires healthy conditions, and I aim to help each person identify the changes that are necessary to provide that potential of good healthy conditions. Each person has different needs that must be addressed before healing can take place.
